# Daily Capsule > Daily Capsule is a one-question-a-day reflection app with private writing, optional anonymous sharing and human perspectives, without profiles, followers, likes, streak pressure or AI analysis. Made by Power of Life Labs GmbH, Herrliberg, Switzerland. Free on iOS and Android. ## What it is Everyone receives the same single question each day. You answer it in the app. Your answer is private by default. If you choose, you can release it anonymously to a shared feed called the Collective and read how other people answered the same question that day. Reading the Collective is reciprocal: you see other people's answers once you have shared your own. The daily question closes at the end of the day. There is nothing to catch up on, no streak counter, no completion percentage. ## What it deliberately does not have - No followers, no likes, no visible popularity counts, no ranking - No public profiles; people write under a pseudonymous alias - No streaks, no catch-up prompts, no guilt notifications - No AI that reads, scores or replies to your writing - No advertising, no ad networks, no data brokers, no tracking cookies ## Where AI is and is not used AI is used in exactly two places, both disclosed in the privacy policy: a safety check on capsules before they are shared publicly, and translation so people can read each other across languages. Private capsules are never sent to any AI system, and nothing in the product generates an AI response to a user's writing. ## Who it suits People who have repeatedly failed to keep a traditional journal, who want a prompt rather than a blank page, who want reflection without gamification, or who miss the shared-daily-question model of apps like Daily Haloha and Longwalks. ## Who it does not suit People who want a complete diary of their life; a one-question practice records answers, not events. People motivated by streaks and counters, which this deliberately lacks. People wanting an established community: it is small and early. ## Pages - [Home](https://www.daily-capsule.com/): what the app is, with an FAQ - [Journal](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/): answers about sustaining reflection - [I want to journal every day, but I can't stay consistent](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/cant-stay-consistent): why journaling habits fail, and what a smaller ritual looks like - [Journaling without streaks, guilt, or catching up](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/journaling-without-streaks): why streak counters break the practice they measure - [One question a day instead of a full journal entry](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/one-question-a-day): what one-question-a-day journaling is, and how it compares to gratitude journals - [Why seeing other people's answers can help you reflect](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/seeing-other-answers): what a shared question adds that a private journal cannot - [Daily Haloha and Longwalks alternatives](https://www.daily-capsule.com/journal/alternatives-daily-haloha-longwalks): what those apps did and what to look for now - [Privacy policy](https://www.daily-capsule.com/privacy) - [Terms of service](https://www.daily-capsule.com/terms) ## Apps - iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6762511430 - Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.dailycapsule
